If your going through something in anything that has to do with legal issues this is the place you go. They had my back all the way through and never tried to just get money out of me there only goal was to represent me and basically protect me from false allegations they did that I walked away with no legal issues. I had to find a hire a criminal defense attorney because my ex wife repeatedly claims to be a victim by using the ‘Silver Bullet’ technique. This is where a person maliciously makes claims of domestic violence in order to benefit financially and ‘steal’ the children, the property, the finances all to themselves. It has extreme and permanent direct and collateral damages. It has costs the lives of many good people. I was wrongly charged with a crime for doing nothing more than helping and coaching my sons play football. All it took was my ex making a malicious claim. This was an extremely stressful situation because my ex was using this criminal charge as evidence and extortion in collateral cases, one of which she is accused of abuse for her personal gain. (Utah case No. 230908265). I had to then gather 25 sworn affidavits from the other coaches, parents, and spectators - every single one stating that my ex was lying. I had to research criminal defense attorneys and was referred to Joseph Rupp. Mr. Rupp was excellent. He was extremely familiar with the industry and this Silver Bullet tactic. Mr. Rupp worked tirelessly with the prosecution and was successful in exposing my ex so all criminal charges were dropped. Yvette Donosso has been my attorney for around 7 months. My ex and I got divorced July of 2025 and share 50/50 custody of our 2-year-old daughter (I had a different attorney for our original divorce settlement). Since our divorce, we have gone to court 3 times on the matters of my ex trying to take sole custody as well as her being held in contempt of our decree. Even though I got into trouble with the law due to my choices. Collins Rupp was there with me every step of my legal journey. Pro tip......cooperate with police, however do not talk about anything or give them permission to have blood be taken for testing...because anything you say can and will he held against you in court of law.

I just honestly feel like Mr. Becerra just did not do what I would expect a private retained attorney would do, which is try and fight for my case as we are going through Mediation. It was essentially just me and the Judge that was discussing it and Mr. Becerra just kind of sat back and let us do all the talking, with maybe one or two inputs about stuff that was already pretty obvious.. he genuinely is a nice man, and I am not writing this trying to diminish his character. I just don’t know if he was exhausted from the day before; where he had said he went through an 8 hour Meditation. I just personally will never use or recommend this Firm to anyone if it means they will get stuck with Mr. Becerra.

Update 3/6/26: I was recently contacted by Mr. Collins regarding my review on here, and I am pretty pleased I will admit. I was informed that they let go of Mr. Becerra because of the same reasons I had stated below, from more then just me. I truly appreciate him reaching out and just checking in. It’s kind of too late now to fix anything, which I’ve come to terms with and am ok with. I appreciate your follow up Mr. Collins and will adjust my rating. Because like I said below, I truly liked everyone in that office, besides my specific attorney of course! I honestly have no issues with Mr. Rupp or Mr. Collins. They did really good in helping me understand and guiding me on my car accident from last year. I highly recommend Logan and Joe as well as their team. Joe did a great job speaking Spanish.

Collins & Rupp SAVED MY LIFE! I was let down by other attorneys. I was mentally beaten and bruised by the process, I was wrongfully accused, my name and reputation has been torn to shreds. Joseph and Logan stepped up and proved my innocence, what that State could have done if they would have just spent 10 minutes looking at the evidence. I was looking at Life, yeah LIFE in prison, Joseph, Logan and the rest of the crew looked at the evidence, the timeline, the testimony of everyone else and proved that they were not telling the truth. There is a vast difference between lawyers who will just take your money and these guys who sat down and listened and looked at everything. Other lawyers just wanted to get me to take a deal and didn’t care about the truth, Joseph and Logan, they cared. This firm did the right thing by walking in and having an open mind and looking at what was going on. I was going through a rough divorce and just two weeks after mediation I was charged with a sexual offense so my wife could get full custody, and money. All the custody and all the money. Was what I went through unfair? Yes. Was what I had to deal with wrong? Yes. Did I get justice in the end? YES and no. I lost family and friends but Joseph and Logan proved my innocence and I gained my freedom. When I was about to have very few pages left in my life, I just gained the next 30+ years that I would have sat in prison. If it were not for Joseph, Logan and the rest of the Collins Rupp crew I would have my freedom that as a Veteran I cherish so very much. This is why every year I will send flowers for my freedom.

Everyone involved showed a lot of care and respect for my situation and helped me navigate the difficult court processes. Joe and Julie were extremely helpful and genuine in trying to get me the best outcome possible even with the knowledge that the result wasn't exactly what I wanted.
